Crystal formations from Aggregator Crystals to Lemurian Crystals and their meanings

Crystals and gemstones form in many unique ways and habits. Explore the meanings of Crystal Clusters, Keys, Isis Faces and Lemurian Crystals in this overview of unique formations and their metaphysical properties.

AGGREGATOR OR BARNACLE CRYSTALS

Features: Aggregator Crystals are large crystals partially or totally covered in smaller crystals.

Properties: Think of the barnacles as the things and relationships you have added to your life. Aggregator crystals hold supportive energies. An aggregator crystal is a good crystal to help maintain perspective. Very useful to use at the beginning of a meditation session.

AKASHIC OR LEMURIAN LINES

Features: You can identify Akashic (or Lemurian) Lines by the unique horizontal striations (ridged lines) running down any side facet of a crystal. If the lines are on all sides of the crystal, it is a Lemurian Seed Crystal.

Properties: These crystals hold ancient information recorded from the past. Often associated with lost civilizations such as Lemuria and Atlantis.

BRIDGE CRYSTALS (INNER CHILD)

Features: A bridge is a form of crystal projection where crystal penetrate each other when they form. Bridge Crystals have at least one smaller crystal sticking out and penetrating the main body of the crystal.

Properties: Bridge (also called Inner Child) Crystals are helpful in any area you might need to bridge a gap - e.g. between inner and outer worlds or selves.

Uses: They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self).

CHANNELLING CRYSTALS

Features: Channelling Crystals can be recognized by a single, large seven-sided face (known as the channeller face) with two small triangular face on either side and one triangular face directly behind the main face. They can be recognized by their specific 7-3 configuration. There are three different types of channelling quartz formations relating to how many of the 7-3 combinations occur on the crystal. They may occur with one, two or three pairs of faces, each seven and three sided.

• Initiation crystals: Those with one pair of faces.
• Integration or Transmitter Crystals: Those with two pairs of faces.
• Temple Heart Dow or Trans-channelling crystals: Those with three pairs of faces, each with seven and three sides.

Properties: All of these formations are excellent used in meditation, and they are all powerful crystals to stimulate spiritual growth. They have strong action to aid in elevating your spirituality and for making major changes in your life. The 7-sided front face symbolizes the qualities of consciousness and mastery necessary to access the wisdom of your Higher Self. These are the qualities of Love, Unity, Peace, Bliss, Freedom, Knowledge, and Manifestation.

Conscious Connection: The use of a channelling crystal enhances conscious connection with one’s accumulated knowledge and wisdom. They can help facilitate the integration of body, mind and spirit on higher planes and spiritual levels. Channelling crystals draw information from either the self, or from spiritual sources. Best used when you are seeking answers or guidance. Simply holding a channelling crystal can help you gain inspiration and insights.

Communicating with spirit guides: a channelling crystal does not transmit; it can only be used by the person holding it in order to receive information.

Meditation: Excellent tools for meditation and consciousness work, or communication with higher energies and frequencies of light. They are often used by mediums in their channelling and psychic work.

CRYSTAL CLUSTERS

Features: Crystal points that have grown together on a matrix (base) are called clusters. Clusters may have a lot of small uniform points, or they can be all different sizes and shapes, and pointing in many different directions. Smaller crystal clusters are readily accessible, larger clusters are coveted by collectors.

Properties: Crystals in a cluster form enables the crystal points’ combined energy to spread out. Crystal clusters can benefit entire rooms - and for very large clusters even the whole house! Place other crystals carefully on clusters to charge them.

CRYSTAL POINT

Features: Crystal points can be naturally formed in the Earth, or a crystal carved into the shape of a point. We find that natural points tend to have more intensity.

Properties: The energy of a terminated crystal point spreads out from its tip. Terminated points are used to send, focus and direct energy. A crystal point directs and amplifies energy to a specific intention.

• Grids: Use a crystal point to activate a crystal grid. Place in the centre of a crystal grid to amplify your intentions out into the Universe.
• Crystal super-charging: To amplify the energy of other crystals.
• Manifesting: Create energy based on intention.
• Healing: Direct the flow of energy.
• Space enhancing: Place intentionally throughout a space to attract chi (life force energy).

DOUBLE OR DOUBLY TERMINATED POINT

Features: A single crystal with a termination at each end. 

Properties: Double terminated points are used to send, focus and direct energy as well as receive energy at the same time. They are also used for transmuting negative energies.

Grids: Use a crystal point to activate a crystal grid. Place in the centre of a crystal grid to amplify your intentions out into the Universe.

Crystal super-charging: To amplify the energy of other crystals.

Manifesting: Create energy based on intention.

Healing: Use to direct the flow of energy in healing.

Space enhancing: Place intentionally throughout a space to attract chi (life force energy).

ELESTIAL CRYSTALS

Features: Also known as skeletal, alligator or Jacare Quartz. Elestial Crystals are multiple points growing from the same main crystal body. They occur in quartz, rose, amethyst or smoky quartz.

Properties: They have an amazing energy to help you to make a connection to the higher spiritual realms, and particularly connecting with angelic beings. 

Uses: They help to regulate how much energy you receive and help you to receive the right amount needed at the time you are using them. Crystals with these formations are excellent for healing a variety of problems.

EMPATHIC CRYSTALS

Features: This is one of the quartz formations that many people ignore, because they aren't perfect and pristine crystals. Empathic (sometimes called empathic warrior crystals) are stones that show damage somewhere on the stone - either on the point or the sides.

Properties: Bring out and amplify compassionate feelings, helps with healing on the mental, spiritual or emotional level.

Energy: Crystals that have been damaged at some point in their journey emit a strong empathic energy.

Uses: This crystal formation is wonderful to use when you are dealing with problems in your life, especially those that you have trouble knowing how to handle. Having one in your collection can benefit when you don't know where to turn to for help.

ENHYDRO CRYSTALS

Features: Enhydro crystals have water included inside the crystal - like a little bubble inside the stone. This water was encapsulated within the inside of the piece of quartz during its formation.

Properties: Are supportive crystals, very powerful ally to assist with change in your life.

Uses: Use to aid healing of emotional issues and assist with life changes. Enhydro crystal's aid with feeling empathy for another's situation and may stimulate your imagination in a down to earth way.

ETCHED CRYSTALS

Features: Etched Quartz crystals can be recognized by the presence of abrasions on the surfaces of the crystals. The etched surface is caused by water during the crystal's growth cycle, or by mineral inclusions that have since dissolved away. Etching can form in most varieties of Quartz.

Properties: The etchings help you to gain access to healing information from the past.

Uses: Use etched crystals in meditation. Place on your third eye chakra to access the information from spiritual realms. Before entering the meditative state ask Spirit to give you what you require and be open to receiving the information you need.

EXTRA TERMINATIONS (ET CRYSTALS)

Features: Extra Terminations, or ET Crystals, are crystals that have a single point on one end, and multiple terminations on the other end. These are usually self-healed crystals that have fully healed and regrown many terminations in the area from the healing point.

Properties: They help to bring energy in via the single point, and then broadcast it to a large area of the body via the multiple points. Very powerful for healers, ET's can help access beings in the higher realms - such as angels and beings from other areas of the universe or galaxies or boost distant healing.

Use: If you use it as a wand with the multiple points directed towards the body, this may help to bring healing to a range of areas that are being worked on, and at a higher level.

FREEFORM CRYSTALS

Features: Free Form crystals can be carved or natural.

Properties: Free Forms have a gentle healing energy that creates a soothing and harmonious space. Freeform's have a soothing, gentle energy. Hold during meditation or healing work to align with the crystal's healing energy. Place them throughout your home to fill it with positive energy. If small enough to carry use as a palm stone.

GENERATOR

Features: A Generator is a crystal point with six triangular faces meeting at the tip of a central termination. The faces are usually triangular. Crystal generators can be naturally formed in the Earth (though rare) or carved into shape. Naturally formed generators tend to have more intensity.

Properties: A generator is a powerful crystal that amplifies the properties of the crystal and our intentions.

Uses: A high impact and healing crystal for crystal grids. Generators help balance Earth energies.

GEODE

Features: A Geode is a hollow rock which contains hundreds of crystals growing inside it.

Properties: Grounding and energizing. Balances Earth energies. Repairs Ley Lines. Connects with Gaia.

Uses: Crystal clusters can benefit entire rooms - and for very large clusters even the whole house! Place other crystals carefully on clusters to charge them.

INCLUSIONS

Features: Exactly as it sounds – it is the presence of other minerals caught inside a crystal as it is formed. They can appear as elements suspended inside the crystal and can be any type of mineral or colour, depending on the minerals that were present during the formation of the crystal. Forms include crystals, liquid or gas bubbles, or even fractures. Inclusions are also proof that a crystal is genuine.

Properties: The mineral inclusions can add the properties of whatever that mineral is included. For example:

• Tourmalinated Quartz - Tourmaline and Quartz
• Lodolite (Scenic or Garden Quartz) - 
• Rutilated Quartz - Rutile and Quartz
• Enhydro Quartz - water bubble suspended in Quartz.

ISIS FACE

Features: An Isis Face, also known as an Isis Crystal, is a five-sided face with a tall point at the top.

Properties: An Isis Crystal helps one connect with the energies of the divine feminine, female guides, Isis or Goddess.

Use: 

KEY

Features: A crystal key is a crystal that has formed with a hexagonal or angular shaped recess (or protrusion) usually on the side facets of a crystal, often near the base.

Properties: A crystal with a key (indentation or protrusion) helps awaken your DNA and integrate lost parts of yourself. It can also be used for Shamanic Soul Retrieval.

Use: 

CLASSIC LEMURIAN OR LEMURIAN SEED CRYSTAL

Features: You can identify Lemurian Crystals by the unique horizontal striations (ridged lines) running down all of the side facets.

Properties: Considered one of the ‘Master Crystals’, Lemurian's are stones of special power. They are an excellent tool for clearing and activating the Chakras. It is believed that if you rub your finger over the ridged lines to download their ancient knowledge. Activate rather than program your Lemurian Quartz, there is no need to cleanse.
