Lava Stone (Basalt or Lava Rock) is a stone of protection, strength, luck and fertility. Found in volcanic regions round the globe, lava stone is a natural phenomenon, an igneous rock the result of molten lava that cooled and soldified after a volcanic eruption.
The distinct features of lava stone include its porous surface, which can be left rough or polished. Each specimen is unique, its rough texture, air bubbles and small flecks of lighter-coloured minerals embedded within giving it character. Used for centuries for decoration and adornment, Lava stones can also be polished into fascinating pieces.
It has long been believed that as these rocks were forged by fire, wearing or carrying lava stones can bring strength, courage, and stability when facing challenging or difficult situations.
