Citrine is the yellow to red-orange variety of crystalline quartz. Mining actually yields very little citrine. Natural citrine stones usually occur in pale lemon yellow colors, often with smoky tones to rich orange colour with red flashes. The vast majority of citrine on the market are heat-treated^. In terms of colour and price, at the top end of the scale are prime specimens of the most saturated yellow, orange, and reddish tones. Those with less intense colour fall into lower value ranges, with the pale or smoky stones falling at the bottom.

^Synthetic Citrine and treatments: The vast majority of citrines on the market are heat treated, they are produced by heating smoky quartz (HTS), which produces light to medium yellows), or amethyst (HTA), which produces stronger yellows and orange-red to orange-brown shades. Heat-treated stones may fade when exposed to heat.
BRACELET & CRYSTAL CARE
- We recommend rolling bracelets on, and off to avoid breakage or damage to the elastic.
- Direct sunlight may cause some crystals to fade. The colour change will not affect the energy your crystal emits. If you prefer to avoid colour change, place your stone in a place where there is indirect or dappled light.
- To clean away dirt or dust, use a soft brush and mild soap or wipe with a cloth dampened with water.
- Avoid mechanical cleaning, such as steam or ultrasonic systems, and chemical solvents.
