JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE
Proper care will ensure the longevity and beauty of your crystal, gold-plated and stainless steel pieces. Please follow these simple guidelines.
WEAR
- Bracelets: For elasticated bracelets, roll them on and off your wrist gently. Pulling or stretching them can weaken the elastic over time.
- Last On, First Off: Apply hairspray, perfume, and lotions before putting on your jewellery. These products can contain chemicals that may tarnish plating or damage crystals.
- Avoid Contact: Remove your jewellery before swimming (chlorine), exercising (sweat), cleaning (harsh chemicals), or any strenuous activity.
CLEANING
- General Cleaning: Gently wipe your pieces with a soft, lint-free cloth (like a microfiber or jewellery polishing cloth) after each wear to remove oils and dust. For a deeper clean, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and ensure the piece is completely dry before storing.
- Gold-Plated Specific: Clean gold-plated items with a soft, dry cloth only. Avoid using water or any chemicals, as moisture can accelerate the wearing of the plating.
- Stainless Steel Specific: You can safely clean stainless steel pieces with a bit of warm water and a drop of mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a soft cloth.
USE
- Sunlight: Direct sunlight may cause some crystals to fade. The colour change will not affect the energy your crystal emits. If you prefer to avoid colour change, place your stone in a place with indirect or dappled light.
- Moisture & Chemicals: As noted above, keep all jewellery dry and away from chemicals, including those found in perfumes, hairsprays, and household cleaners.
- Water: As noted above, keep crystal jewellery dry and away from chemicals found in tap water and chlorine pools. Some crystals - especially those ending with 'ite' should never be immersed in water.
STORAGE
- Individually: Store each piece separately to prevent scratching, tangling, and other damage.
- Dry & Cool: Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. An airtight container or a soft-lined jewellery box is ideal.
- Lay Flat: Store elasticated bracelets flat rather than hanging them, to maintain the integrity of the elastic.
By following these care instructions, you will help preserve the shine and quality of your jewellery for years to come.
