Black Moonstone is a variety of Moonstone recently discovered in Madagascar - and the only place where authentic black moonstone occurs. Famous for its shimmering effect when moved - known as adularescence, which gives Moonstone some of its appeal and a sense of mystery. Despite its name, Black Moonstone is not truly black, it often contains swirls, lines and patches of white, grey, brown and peach or tan colours throughout. These patterns and colours connect with different chakras in your body, making Black Moostone quite a powerful stone.
