Metal Properties & Attributes

Across cultures and traditions, metals have been associated with divine power, healing, strength, and transformation. The connect the grounding esssence of earth’s core energy with the divine energies of the cosmic realm and human intention—amplifying both stability and higher consciousness.

Metals remind us of resilience and purity: gold’s brilliance, silver’s reflective calm, stainless steel’s endurance, titanium’s protective strength, and platinum’s rare, refined energy. Each offers unique vibrations to harmonize with your energy field and to complement crystals in jewellery and healing practice.

A note on hallmarks, they're like a jewellery passport, they tell you where a piece came from and its content.

GOLD

9ct, 14ct, 15ct, 18ct and 22ct Gold are all alloys of pure Gold (for the math lovers 9ct is 9 parts out of 24), with a mix or other metals like Silver, Copper or Zinc. - sometimes small percentages of other metals can also be used.

The percentages of the three main metals, Gold, Silver, and Copper, will effect the colour of the gold. For example more Copper content creates Rose Gold, and more Silver content creates White Gold. Though, White Gold is also sold as a base metal with Rhodium plating.

Hallmarking – It can vary by maker and country of origin.

Metaphysical Properties & Attributes

Tarnishing and Cleaning – Gold is much more resistant to tarnishing than silver or other alloyed metals but will still gather dirt from use, and may eventually tarnish slightly. Clean Gold with mild soapy water and a soft toothbrush, dry thoroughly and then polish with a polishing cloth.

SILVER

Sterling Silver is an alloy of pure silver. The percentage of Silver is 92.5%, so it also contains 7.5% of other metals -  usually copper.

Hallmarking – Sterling Silver is usually hallmarked (stamped) with “925”. Note: not all countries have to hallmark by law, and some countries will hallmark base metal plated items. It's always best to purchase precious metal items from a reputable supplier.

Metaphysical Properties & Attributes

Tarnishing and Cleaning – we recommend wearing it regularly. Yes, Sterling Silver will react to sulfides in the air and this may cause tarnishing. When your Silver tarnishes, it will usually clean up with a Silver Polishing Cloth. To protect your Silver Jewellery, or storing in an airtight container, anti-tarnish bag or cloth bag when not in use.

STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless Steel is a steel alloy, mostly containling Iron, and a small percentage of Chromium and other metals. Stainless Steel is corrosion resistant, but can eventually corrode from years of exposure to very salty water (like the titanic). Surgical Steel or 316 stainless is the most corrosion resistant form and usually used for medical applications.

Metaphysical Properties & Attributes

Tarnishing and Cleaning – Food grafe 304 Stainless Steel and Surgical 316 Stainless Steel do not tarnish. Jewellery items that are worn a lot will gather grime and eventually require cleaning. Clean stainless with with mild soapy water and a soft toothbrush. Rinse clean and dry thoroughly.

MEDITATION & AFFIRMATIONS WITH METALS

Metals serve as both stabilizers and amplifiers within your spiritual practice, grounding the soul while aligning you with higher energies or cosmic cycles. Use them during meditation for balancing and earthly grounding with celestial guidance. They connect us to cycles of nature, cosmic forces, and our own inner resilience.
