In addition, amber fluoresces under blue UV light and real Baltic Amber is buoyant in salt water, whereas imitation Amber will sink. Look for real amber inclusions too as they are usually deformed, not a perfect insect.

Safety Notes for Amber Teething Jewellery

• Hand-Knotted Cord – Each bead is individually hand-knotted on the cord. This means if the piece were to break, only one bead will come loose, reducing the risk of choking.

• Safety Clasp – By design, Amber teething jewellery is fitted with a specially designed safety clasp. Do not overtighten, a couple of turns is enough. These clasps are designed to release under pressure, to minimise the risk of injury if the piece is tugged or caught on something.

• Supervision Required – Always supervise your child when wearing an amber teething jewellery. It should be removed during sleep, naps, and any unsupervised play due to choking/strangulation risks. Many parents opt to wrap them around the ankle under a sock for safer wear.

• Not a Toy – Amber necklaces are designed as a wearable comfort item, not a teething toy, and should not be chewed.
